Dr.TomCat AR — Privacy Policy

Christos Malliarakis operates Dr.TomCat AR (“Dr.TomCat”, “we”, or “us”), an educational augmented-reality puzzle app. Contact: malliarakis@gmail.com.
Camera and augmented reality
The app uses the camera to recognize the Dr.TomCat printed cards and display interactive scenes. Camera images are processed on your device for this purpose. This version uses image-target databases included in the app; it does not use Vuforia Cloud Recognition, upload camera images, or provide camera recording. Device motion and sensor information support augmented-reality tracking. You can withdraw camera permission in Android settings, but the AR features require it.
Data sent by the AR software
The app uses Vuforia Engine, provided by PTC Inc. Vuforia sends technical and usage statistics to PTC, its affiliates, and service providers. These can include device make/model and operating-system version; camera-profile, SDK and app versions; the app identifier and distribution information; license-validation information; session, camera-start, feature-use, and recognition-event timestamps; and the device’s IP address, used to infer country of use. This supports AR operation, licensing, compatibility, and analysis of the software’s use.
Details are available in Vuforia Statistics, Vuforia Data Security, and PTC’s Privacy Statement. These service providers may process data outside your country, including the United States and Europe. Vuforia describes encryption for data transmitted to its services.
Accounts, advertising, and purchases
Dr.TomCat does not require an account or provide account creation, in-app purchases, advertising, or user-to-user messaging. The app does not request the Android advertising-ID permission.
Retention and requests
We do not operate a server that stores your camera images or game account information. Data processed by PTC is subject to PTC’s retention practices and privacy statement. You may contact malliarakis@gmail.com with questions or requests concerning personal data, and contact PTC through its privacy statement concerning data it processes. We will help identify the appropriate recipient of a request; the app does not provide an in-app data-deletion control.
Intended audience
The app is intended for people aged 13 and older, including teenagers and adults. It is not directed to children under 13. Parents or guardians can contact us with privacy concerns. While using augmented reality, remain aware of your surroundings and physical obstacles.
External links
The app can open the Dr.TomCat website and its social-media profiles in an external browser or app. Those services have their own privacy and cookie practices.
